Born in Amsterdam in 1981. The designers met at university, the two friends found something in common: vintage fashion. At first they sold second-hand clothes, then in 1984, they decided to create their own brand with their own prints. They sell their King Louie clothing line in their own store: Exota. It was a success and in 1987 other points of sale in the Netherlands began selling the brand. Their saleswoman Brigitte joins the game and becomes their first model. 2009 marks a turning point for King Louie clothing. They are now sold all over Europe and are gaining popularity. 10 years later, the success continues.

King Louie is a brand that is committed to the environment and respect for workers, 25% of the collection is now GOTS certified (the most demanding label at the environmental and social level). A “sustainable” line in organic cotton or recycled polyester is present in each of the collections, summer and winter.
